Our Story

Paulomi was founded after a transformative mother-daughter heritage trip to India. Founder, Reena Richtermeyer, grew up in North America but always felt a connection to the rich world of artisans and craftmanship in India. In early 2024, she traveled to India with her daughter, and the experience opened her eyes to the incredible pieces that were missing from the American retail market. During their journey, they explored vibrant towns, built lasting relationships with local merchants, and immersed themselves in India’s rich textile heritage.

Over the next year, Reena and her daughter found themselves consistently choosing the gorgeous items they had purchased in India. The sumptuous silk fabrics, intricate designs and the kaleidoscope of colors were irresistible and unique. The Western market seemed focused on affordable clothing made unsustainably, filled with chemicals and microplastics, while natural and high-quality clothing remained out of reach for most. Motivated by these insights, Paulomi was born to bring silks and other Indian textiles to the West—focusing on luxurious, skin-friendly fibers and bold designs that celebrate individuality, all while ensuring affordability and accessibility.

Paulomi is also committed to giving back to India and making a positive impact. The brand aims to uplift women and children in the communities that supply these beautiful textiles.
